The Director of Operations/Plant Manager plans and directs all aspects of production, purchasing, logistics and maintenance activities within the company. This role leads the development, implementation and evaluation of related programs and capital investment, ensuring that projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with established policies and objectives.
Functions and duties include:
Assist in identifying competitive strategies and evaluate, adjust or redraft the organization's supply chain programs accordingly ensuring thorough communication of imperatives and action items to the production team
Plan and direct all aspects of the supply chain to meet or exceed the organization's policies, objectives, and initiatives
Evaluate plant operations and manage to best practices with a strong emphasis on production efficiencies and asset utilization
Establish, define and review performance of assigned KPIs
Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with suppliers holding them accountable to strict performance requirements
Work collaboratively across business teams and with the ownership group
Business lead for global improvement programs
Develop short and medium term goals that align with over-all corporate initiatives
Strategic and global thinker with strong intellectual and business acumen
Focused on continuous improvement and driving sustainable measures
Understanding of the global OEM and performance aftermarket businesses
Previous experience working with commodities such as aluminum
Strong change management skills and experience
Experience in leading cross-functional teams
Ability to work in a matrix organization
Demonstrated negotiation and management leadership skills
Ability to work in a multicultural environment
Experience with transportation, inventory management, global sourcing and international logistics
Experience with ERP/MRP systems; capital budgeting and planning
Proficiency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
Must be able to walk frequently; stand for extended periods and repeatedly bend and move up to 50lbs on occasion
Must be able to physically reach in all directions and use upper body to push and/or pull
Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled plant environment
