Achieve or exceed annual goals through successful management and collaboration with all association departments. Implement best practices to manage and nurture sales opportunities as well as develop and support sales team. Inspire and foster a high-performing culture of growth from lead generation to closed sales to renewals. Oversee or directly manage major accounts and critical developing opportunities. Collaborate with the vice president of marketing and vice president of events on development of all sales and sponsorship-related marketing materials. Collaborate with the vice president of events and senior vice president of operations to create and monitor all sponsorship programs for cohesiveness with association goals and objectives. Collaborate with the vice president of events, director of special events and CEO on peripheral activities (special events) at shows and events to ensure success for all attendees. Programs include SEMA Show, SEMA New Products Breakfast, Industry Awards Banquet, Hall of Fame Luncheon and Installation Banquet. In conjunction with the vice president of events and vice president of publications, develop and adhere to annual operating budgets for show events and media content. Research and evaluate new revenue sources through new markets and opportunities within existing markets. Recommend opportunities to association management for the purpose of pursuing such markets. Create an environment/climate of continuous improvement in all areas related to sales. Have knowledge about the competition and how to stand apart from all competitors. Be an integral part of the executive team, which requires participating in weekly executive meetings and supporting the association’s values statements. Develop relationships with industry leaders, customers and market influencers. Build new networks of contacts on behalf of the association to stimulate interest in the association, provide sales management analysis data, projections, trends, members’ needs and other relevant information as appropriate or needed. When directed by the CEO or senior vice president of operations, perform other assignments and duties as required.
Reports to the senior vice president of operations. Interfaces with division vice presidents/directors/employees. Interfaces with association members, prospective members, industry contacts, and SEMA’s Show vendors and stakeholders, advertising agencies, consultants and rep. firms.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Executive-level interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully influence and quickly build credibility. Four-year degree in marketing and/or seven to eight years’ sales and association experience, preferably with three to four years in the automotive aftermarket. Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven managerial experience Strong execution focus and ability to develop solutions and strategies to further support the association’s mission.
