Turbocharged High Performance Engine Developer and Manufacturer, Banks Power, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to work part time, 12-15 hours per week while attending classes and full time, up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
Banks is the originator of, and has been, the market leader in the performance diesel aftermarket for many years. Banks has designed its own electronics for the last 28 years and is currently developing a wide range of new and innovative command, control, and monitoring products.
Summary: Build, repair, and modify developmental electronics components, parts, equipment, and systems.
Successful candidate will:
Support Engineering Group with CAD model and engineering drawing revisions.
Discuss layout and assembly procedures with Technician to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
Assemble wire looms, experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype model.
Perform installation of prototypes, pre-production systems and sub-systems for evaluation.
Read Schematics and wiring diagrams.
Organize and maintain stock levels of parts inventory.
Understand business implications of decisions. Align work with corporate strategic goals. Effectively deal with changing demands and priorities. React well under pressure and manage competing demands; demonstrate persistence and overcome obstacles. Maintain confidentiality; ensure the professional and courteous atmosphere in the Engineering department at all times and maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
Successful candidate will have completed 2 years of coursework toward a EE degree or Engineering Technology Bachelors degree
Good technical writing abilities and a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
Must be an automotive enthusiast and have a passion for aftermarket automotive products.
Must be able to work in a team environment and have excellent technical skills and good technical writing ability.
Highly responsible, self-motivated and able to thrive in an energetic, fast-paced, creative environment.
Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
Ability to meet agreed upon deadlines.
Hands-on; proactive in nature.
Have excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal).
