Hellwig Products, a leading manufacturer of high-quality, innovative load and sway control for vehicles in Visalia, California, is seeking to add a Senior Mechanical Engineer to its team.
Job Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will design and test all mechanical equipment and machinery aspects. We’re passionate about creating suspension parts that exceed our customers’ expectations. Our engineers work closely with our customers, manufacturing, and sales team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Apply technical knowledge and creative thinking skills to propose or develop innovative solutions for various suspension components.
Works with the R&D team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans.
Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the products.
Researches and analyzes data, such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals, to determine the feasibility of the design or application.
Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production.
Designs prototypes of the product and tests the design.
Studies the test data and makes comparisons with similar designs.
Develops control systems and monitors production.
Maintains a minimum amount of rework that meets the company’s quality standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
Five years of related experience preferred.
Self-motivated and professionally driven.
Excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
Experience designing suspension parts in automotive, good mechanical aptitude.
Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software and Solidworks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
